Description: The first in a series of four talks on Christianity and Communism by Rev. Dr. Roy L. Smith. First Methodist Church in Los Angeles, under the ministry of Roy L. Smith in the days before World War II, was perhaps the most significant congregation in the Methodist Episcopal Church. Smith also served as editor of Methodism's National Periodical, "The Christian Advocate." In 1989, Smith was recognized as one of the 40 Methodists and United Methodist leaders honored for outstanding achievement in Christian Evangelism between 1949 and 1989.
