Iliff School of Theology is a private graduate Methodist theological school in Denver, Colorado. Founded in 1892, the school’s campus is adjacent to the University of Denver.

Iliff is one of thirteen United Methodist Church seminaries in the United States. It also has close connections with the United Church of Christ, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Unitarian Universalist Association, the Episcopal Church, the Presbyterian Church USA, the Metropolitan Community Church, and others.

Understanding Death and Dying in the Navajo and Popago ReligionsDescription: Professor Harvey Potthoff asks Dr. Underhill about herself, her research, and her understanding of the Navajo and Papago religions, particularly in relation to death and dying. This was done in Potthoff's class, "Death in Theological Perspective." Ruth Murray Underhill (1883-1984) was an American anthropologist. She was born in Ossining-on-the-Hudson, New York, and attended Vassar College, graduating in 1905 with a degree in Language and Literature. In 1930, she decided to go back to school to learn more about human behavior. After speaking with Franz Boas and Ruth Benedict in the Anthropology Department at Columbia University, she decided to pursue the field, graduating with a doctorate in 1937. She wrote numerous books on Native American tribes and helped to dispel many myths about their cultures.
