Privacy Policy

This site exists for two purposes:

  1. To rescue important audio from archives and libraries that focus on church / religion / theological presentations. This audio has been saved on reel-to-reel or cassette tape, and is likely to be saved in that form until it is too deteriorated to recover the audio.
  2. To digitize these presentations and make them available to be studied and appreciated.

The policies posted here are the rules under which we operate to make possible the purposes listed above.

Cookies: We don’t allow comments, visitor log-ins, or guest publications, thus none of these cookie-generators are in use.

Analytics: We use “cookies” on this site to track the number of unique visitors each day. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. These cookies enable us to track the numbers of visitors who use the site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

The Site may, in appropriate circumstances and at its discretion, remove certain content or disable access to content that appears to infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that your copyright has been violated by audio available through the Site, please provide Site management the following information:

Identification of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed;
Your address, telephone number, and email address;
A statement by you that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments: We don’t allow comments.

Media: You can’t upload media on our site.

Contact forms: Our contact forms will collect your name and email address. We use these to answer your questions, or to send updates if you have requested them. To have us delete your contact information from our list, send us an email request. To delete yourself from our email list, click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email.

Embedded contents: We do not embed content from other websites.

Who we share your data with
We don’t share your data outside of our own organization. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We do not include or offer third-party products or services on our website.

Additional information
How we protect your data: We never ask for personal or private information like credit card numbers. We use regular malware scanning and software that protects against hacking.

Terms of Use

This terms of use agreement (the “Agreement”) governs your use of the audio resources available on this website, SoundTheology.org (the Site.)

Access to the Collection is provided at no cost to you and is granted for scholarship, research, and personal education. You certify that your use of the Site’s audio collection will be noncommercial and will be limited to non-infringing or fair use under copyright law.

In using the Site’s audio collection, you further agree (a) not to violate anyone’s rights of privacy, (b) not to act in any way that might give rise to civil or criminal liability, (c) not to infringe any copyright rights of any person.

We request that, according to standard academic practice, if you use the Site’s collection for any research that results in an article, a book, or other publication, you list the Site and the listed original source of the audio as resources in your bibliography.

The Site may modify this Agreement from time to time, and your continued use of the Collection and/or the Site constitutes your acceptance of any and all modifications. The Site will attempt to notify you of substantial modifications via the email address that you have registered with us, if any.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Internet site, SoundTheology.org from and against any and all liability, loss, claims, damages, costs, and/or actions (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Site’s services, the site, or the Collection. In addition, you agree that should any provision in the Agreement be found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Under no circumstances, including, without limitation, negligence, shall the Site or its affiliates, officers, employees, or agents be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from or in connection with the use of or the inability to use the Site or the audio collection, or any content contained on the Site or in the collection, or resulting from unauthorized access to the collections or your transmissions of data, including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, use, data, or other intangibles, even if the Site has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

This Agreement, the Privacy Policy, and other policies posted on the Site constitute the full and complete agreement between you and the Site and are not intended to inure to third-party beneficiaries.
